ORAL SEDATION

Oral sedation dentistry offers a solution for those who experience anxiety about going to the dentist. Oral sedation dentistry can range in dosage depending upon your needs. Oral sedation involves taking a pill, Halcion – from the same drug family as Valium – typically one hour before a procedure.

After taking the pill, you will feel comfortably drowsy but still be awake. Some patients prefer a larger dosage for greater sedation. In this case, some patients will fall asleep during their dental procedure, but can be easily awakened.
