Not sure what your plan will cover?
Maybe you've just been approved for CDCP, started a job with new benefits, or you're paying on your own for the first time. Our Mississauga team works through coverage questions with you before treatment, in English, Ukrainian or Romanian.
How direct billing works
Direct billing means we send your claim to your insurance company, so you pay only the portion your plan doesn't cover.
Are you covered by the Canadian Dental Care Plan?
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal program for Canadian residents with no access to dental insurance and an adjusted family net income under $90,000. As a Mississauga CDCP dentist, we bill the plan directly.
- Your co-payment: None under $70,000, 40% between $70,000 and $79,999, and 60% between $80,000 and $89,999.
- Preauthorization: Crowns, partial dentures and a few other services need the plan's approval first.
- Extra costs: If our fee is higher than the CDCP fee, or you choose a service the plan doesn't cover, you'll know the difference before treatment.
- What to bring: Your CDCP member card.

Talk through the numbers before you decide
Before treatment, our financial coordinator sits down with you to go over the fee, what your plan or CDCP will pay, and your share. For a first visit, we'll estimate your fees ahead of time whenever we can, so you know what to expect at the front desk.
Plan Your First VisitFrequently asked questions
Yes. As a Mississauga CDCP dentist, we welcome new patients covered by the plan and bill it directly. Bring your member card to your first visit. If a service needs preauthorization or costs more than the CDCP fee, we'll tell you before treatment so you can decide how to go ahead.
CDCP doesn't cover orthodontic treatment at this time, so Invisalign isn't included. Cosmetic treatments such as whitening and veneers generally aren't covered either. For implants or other work outside the plan, we'll show you the full cost and payment options first, and CDCP may still cover eligible steps, such as an extraction.
Most plans pay a percentage of each service and set a yearly maximum, so a balance is common with larger work. A predetermination shows your share in advance. You can pay it with cash, cheque or credit card, or spread it out with an interest-free payment plan or longer-term financing.
No. CDCP is only for people without access to dental insurance through work, a pension, a family member's plan or a policy they buy. If you lose workplace coverage, you may qualify, as long as you meet the income and tax-filing rules. Coverage through a provincial social program doesn't automatically rule you out.
You apply through the Government of Canada, after you and your spouse or partner have filed taxes for the previous year. Once you're enrolled, you'll receive your member card and a coverage start date, and you can book with us from that date. Eligibility is confirmed every year, so check your status annually.
